Originally home to Bonnington’s Chemists and Black, Beattie & Co Drapers, this iconic building was designed by architect T.S. Lambert and later became part of the historic Strange & Co precinct. Purchased by Stockman Group in 2006, Bonnington House underwent a full restoration led by Stockman Builders in 2007, a project recognised with a Christchurch Civic Trust Award.
The sandstone façade was carefully restored and the original shopfronts replicated, while a steel and concrete structure was introduced inside to strengthen the building and preserve its historic character.
The upper levels now offer a range of high-end private offices, complemented by shared boardrooms, kitchens, bathrooms with showers, and relaxed lounges for breaks or quiet moments away from the desk. With high-speed internet, printing and mail facilities, Bonnington House supports a collaborative workplace environment without compromising privacy.
